Safe Harbor...is not a place one can actually find on a map. One cannot, in fact, find it anywhere on Earth. Below are the seven photographs that I used to create this unique little "safe harbor" (three of the photos I combined in the top photo to give you a better sense of the "real" Trinidad, California). But who needs reality?
Trinidad 3-photo set

The Trinidad I saw at the time. I had to take three photos to capture the entire scene vertically as well as horizontally with the lens I had. It was a pretty drab day, but I later fixed it up in Safe Harbor.

The sky I added was itself pretty blah initially.

Burney Falls

Burney Falls is about 40 minutes east of Redding on Hwy 299 in Northern California. It's a spectacular waterfall in a beautiful setting. As it turns out, it also looks good in at least one setting other than this and Safe Harbor: see my image Surface Tension, in which I use a slightly different view of the falls in another digital photomontage.

This face is indeed in the image in some form...can you find it?

Joshua Tree rock

This is a macro view of a small natural arch in a boulder in Joshua Tree National Monument. It became part of the cliff on the left side of Safe Harbor. Incidentally, I also used part of it as the rock for the Constitution Tablet that the Constitution is on in the foreground of Sardonic.
