| I took 12 separate photographs to completely capture this scene that became the digital photomontage Bedrock Oasis. Most of my digital images are pretty obviously manipulated, but here I've combined the 12 photographs into a new image that appears completely normal yet is a fairly heavy distortion of this beautiful place. I couldn't photograph the scene in a single shot; I had to photograph in various directions and from slightly different vantage points to get it all in, with the result that the scene is a bit altered from its true appearance. All of the photos making up Bedrock Oasis were shot using a Nikon D70 with a 17-55mm f/2.8 Nikkor lens; the exposures were .5 sec (most of them) at f/8. |
